The mature grounds exude privacy and seclusion and are in keeping with the long history of Ica Station. Featuring brick patios, box hedges, an equestrian arena, stables and a more recent beautiful swimming pool and spa pool area.
We are also a Wedding Venue. Ica Station Homestead is the perfect place for a picturesque garden wedding. From small intimate gatherings to large marquee weddings, this venue can accommodate your own unique requirements.
There's plenty of room for a marquee and parking for guests, Surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, the 119 year old homestead behind, makes a wonderful backdrop for photographs, with countryside views to the front.
The original homestead built in 1866 burnt down in 1895 and was replaced with an identical building, by local Whareama builder Thomas Birkett, on the same site in 1901. The original chimneys were re-used. The design is said to be of Norwegian origin.
Within the estate grounds we have two self-contained cottages available for you to rent. A 3 bedroom cottage for up to 6 people (called India House) and a 1 bedroom cottage (called Ica Station Whare) that sleeps 2 people.
