Castlepoint Hotel & Guesthouse. The Whakataki
Built around 1896, our historic hotel near Castlepoint offers a great getaway for the whole family. Only a short walk to Whakataki Beach or a 5 minute drive to the Castlepoint Beach and Lighthouse.
The Whakataki hotel is surrounded by the Castlepoint Golf Course where you can play a round for only $15. There are also the Castlepoint Tennis courts adjacent to the hotel available for your use.
Not into golf or tennis, how about diving for a crayfish or paua. Or enjoy some of the best swimming and surfing spots in New Zealand around Castlepoint. Depending on the season we can arrange your fishing charter, hunting expedition or surfing lessons.
Take a walk along the beach to Castlepoint or Matakoina, wander the hills above Castlepoint and if you wander too far we will collect you in our courtesy van and return you to the Whakataki Hotel.
For those less active enjoy a meal in our family restuarant or just relax in our garden bar with a glass of local wine. Let the kids run free in the Garden Bar Playground.
A variety of accommodation options are available. Choose to stay in one of our hotel guest rooms upstairs, our family bach, a cabin or just park your campervan onsite. Backpackers welcome.
We can also accommodate larger groups. Whakataki Hotel is a great place to get together for functions with family and friends.
